What GoetheCoach does
- Prüfungs-Check and placement: about 3 minutes, no account. You see where you stand for your exam.
- Weekly plan: week by week up to your exam date.
- Writing in the exam format: email, forum post, essay, statement, with Leitpunkte and a counted word total.
- Scoring by the four Goethe criteria: task fulfilment, coherence, vocabulary, structures.
- Explanations in 9 languages and exercises built from your own mistakes. Tasks and sample texts stay in German.
- Teacher check on request: a real teacher reviews the AI score.
How scoring works
GoetheCoach scores with the same grid as the Goethe exam and checks every Leitpunkt one by one. We describe the method, its accuracy and its limits openly: How GoetheCoach scores writing. How to use the app step by step: How to use GoetheCoach.
What our data shows
- The same B2 text with a missing Leitpunkt, graded 5 times each: ChatGPT gave 82–89 points and reported every Leitpunkt as covered; GoetheCoach flagged the gap 5 out of 5 times. See the test
- In our graded practice texts, 48% (B2) and 57% (C1) missed at least one Leitpunkt. With one Leitpunkt missing, the average B2 result drops from 71% to 47%, below the 60% pass mark. See the analysis
